DISCRIPTION: Osteonar HD Tablets 15's belongs to the class of ‘Vitamins’, primarily used to treat low blood Calcium levels. Osteonar HD effectively treats various conditions caused by low calcium levels in the body like Vitamin D3 deficiency, osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), hypoparathyroidism( parathyroid glands make low levels of calcium in the body), latent tetanus ( a muscle disease with low blood calcium levels), and rickets or osteomalcia(softening or deforming of bones due to lack of calcium). Vitamin D3 deficiency occurs when the body has low Vitamin D levels and it caused due to inadequate nutrition, intestinal malabsorption, or lack of sunlight exposure.OsteonarHD Tablet 15’s consists of two components: Calcium ( mineral ) and Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3).
Calciumprovides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation and maintaining. Cholecalciferol is a form of vitamin D3 which helps to maintain blood calcium and phosphorus level and bone mineralization.
DIRECTION OF USE: Osteonar HD an Oral tablet which is to be taken as a whole with a glass of water and also taken with or without food at regular intervals as prescribed by the doctor with adjustable dosage. Do not crush chew or break it.

Indication and Clinical Use: - • Osteoporosis

Drug warning: - Osteonar HD is not recommended if there is a hypercalcemia (high calcium levels), hypervitaminosis D (high Vitamin D levels) and malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food).
Osteonar HD contain sugar and aspartame, hence caution should be taken if there is diabetes and phenylketonuria (increased levels of an amino acid called phenylalanine). Higher doses of vitamin D3 is recommended daily dose should be used in pregnant women only when advised by the doctor.
Interactions: - • Drug-Drug Interactions Osteonar HD may interact with drugs treating high cholesterol levels (cholestyramine,colesevelam, colestipol), antibiotics (doxycycline, minocycline, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, penicillin, neomycin and chloramphenicol), anti-cancer drugs (estramustine), drugs treating bone loss (alendronate), thyroid hormone (levothyroxine), weight-loss drugs (orlistat), fits medicines (phenobarbital), mineral oils (paraffin), water pills (furosemide, ethacrynic acid), and heart related medicines (digitoxin).
• Drug- Food Interactions Avoid or reduce to intake of caffeine, soft drinks and alcohol that inhibit the calcium absorption.
• Drug-Disease Interactions Osteonar HD Tablet 15’s is contraindicated in hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D, malabsorption syndrome, Vitamin D toxicity, heart/kidney/liver/blood vessel disease, kidney stones, sarcoidosis, Crohn’s disease, whipple’s disease, achlorhydria, low levels of bile, phosphate imbalance, diabetes and phenylketonuria.
Safety Warning • Alcohol- It can effectthe calcium absorption hence it is advised to limit the alcohol intake while using Osteonar HD .
• Pregnancy- During pregnancy Use higher doses of Osteonar HD than the dailydietary allowance prescribed by doctor.
• Breast feeding- Osteonar HD can be pass into the breast milk therefore during breast feeding, please monitor the mother and the infants serum calcium levels.
• Driving- If there is a complaint of dizziness while using Osteonar HD Tablet 15’s do not drive and operate machinery.
Diet & Lifestyle Advise • It includes dairy products like milk, yoghurt, cheese or milk-based custard on diet.
• Eat daily a serving of broccoli, cabbage, bok choy, spinach and other green leafy vegetables.
• Include the best dietary sources of vitamin D, such as fish, liver oils and vitamin D3 fortified milk.
• Snack on calcium-rich nuts like Brazil nuts or almonds.
• Sprinkle sesame seeds over the food, vegetables and salads. Sesame seeds are higher in calcium.
• Avoid or reduce the intake of caffeine, soft drinks and alcohol that inhibit the calcium absorption.
• Replace the meat with tofu or tempeh for extra calcium in the food.
Special advice Osteonar HD's may interfere with cholesterol test, hence please inform the doctor and laboratories staff of using Osteonar HD’s before undergoing blood test.
